Bugzilla – Bug 11681
Volume Control from Touchscreen - very touchy
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:16:41 UTC
CAT PR-0022 / Verified by QA Using the touchscreen it is virtually impossible to adjust the volume correctly. The volume control window pops up easily enough from the "Now Playing" screen... but whenever you try to adjust the volume, the window disappears too easily. You have to virtually have your finger touch nothing except the current position of the volume level... and when you try and drag it there is a lag... so you end up turning off the screen unintentionally. Very annoying to use via touchscreen. Easier with remote or from the desktop. However the remote volume adjustment has it own issue with a lag. Hard to adjust the volume in real time using the remote as well. It makes it unfortunately easier to set the volume to a stationary level on the Squeezebox... and then use a separate "Stereo remote" for actual real-time adjustments that need to be made via your sound system. Which takes away from the basic functionality of the Squeezebox... an otherwise very impressive device. Repo Steps ------------ Play any audio on Squeezebox Touch from internet radio or digital files. From the "Now Playing" screen select the speaker icon (for volume control) Now attempt to adjust with your fingertip. It can be done... but it is very frustrating.
fixed with onscreen volume slider available on NP screen circa r5423 there will be some fine tuning to this new volume feature, but this bug is not the forum for that. closing this one as it's invalid now
