Description Marc Auslander 2009-04-06 13:26:22 UTC
I'm running 5151.

Suddenly, now playing was showing the default image - the one seen when there is no album art.

I navigated to a number of tracks which have art, did show album art, and got a dark, blank screen.

The web UI showed the art.

A reboot cleared the issue.

These log entries seem related to the time when a show album art failed:

I see this issue occasionally on one of my controllers. Will be tough to debug the root cause, but I'll assign it to myself with the optimistic goal of a fix for 7.4.

In my experience, the best way to pin down intermittents is to guess at the useful log info, add trace statements as needed, and ask people to turn on the appropriate trace levels. Then see what you learn.

Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the original product.

Do we have any sense re how frequently this occurs?

Also, is this only happening/happening more or less frequently with tracks using a specific encoding or from a particular online service?
Comment 6 Marc Auslander 2009-08-04 18:23:42 UTC
I still see it occasionally. Its art from folders in my library.

This is one of the many controller issues which are repaired by a reboot.

I rescan my library every night. Whether or not this is related I do not know. I'll try to report the next occurance.
Comment 7 Seth Schulte 2009-08-26 11:46:12 UTC
Added CAT2 keyword, though, depending on just how frequently (or infrequently) this happens, it's potentially more of a "nice to have".
Comment 8 Ben Klaas 2009-08-27 23:00:23 UTC
Removing CAT2 keyword, flushing to P2. While this is a nasty bug, it's also a doozy to track down and clearly won't make the P1 deadline.

Will track with logs as I can, but I see this pretty rarely now. One hunch is that it may happen when controller loses wifi connectivity to the server. This used to happen much more in 7.3 and has been patched well in 7.3.3 and beyond. So, could be this happens much less often now...
Comment 9 Chris Owens 2009-10-21 09:49:55 UTC
moving current p2 bugs to p3 to make room for moving p1.5 bugs to p2
Comment 10 Pat Ransil 2009-10-23 05:11:32 UTC
Administrative move of 7.5 bugs. All P2, P3, P4 being downgraded one level. Will then split P1s.

Marc, have you seen this recently?
Comment 13 Marc Auslander 2010-02-18 13:13:06 UTC
Have not seen this in quite a while. As far as I'm concerned, it works for me.
Comment 14 Chris Owens 2010-03-08 11:33:14 UTC
Moving lower-priority bugs to next target
Comment 15 Ben Klaas 2011-01-14 08:28:39 UTC
this one should have been closed off long ago
