Description Weldon Matt 2009-04-03 16:59:22 UTC
The background of screens such as "Finding Networks..." have a slight transparency. While this might have worked well in earlier software versions, the current design needs an opaque black background (it's not TOO nasty in setup but it presents potentially bigger visual issues post-setup, and we should be consistent).

Let's give the background of these screens zero transparency. Noah, can you provide a reference screen?

Added to svn. The current asset had 5% transparency.

cc:ing Richard, who I believe has a strong opinion about having transparency, specifically on the finding networks popup.

alpha transparency removed, r5223

Noah, keep the _95.png image around for a bit, as I'm not entirely sure the transparency debate is over.

closing as resolved for now.

I honestly was unaware of any prior debate on this one. The previous transparency (very subtle), combined with the large size of the animated circle and text, made it next to impossible (at least for me) to see anything useful behind the animation.

Curious to hear thoughts on this one.

The use of the connecting widget (unit is busy for unknown amount of time) for the current black-out alert screen probably warrants a larger discussion of proper visual treatment/behavior, but not for MP:)
