Bugzilla – Bug 11624
Add Region to Advanced Settings
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:26:44 UTC
Seems to me this needs to be changeable somehow after the initial configuration.
(sorry, fat fingered that one)-> Region setting
Is this needed? Everyone's prompted for region at the time of setup (regardless of wired/wireless), so the only reason this would ever change is if a) owner moves to or from North America, or b) the device is sold to/from North America to/from elsewhere. In either of these corner cases, the easy workaround is factory reset. assigning to Dean for decision. Easy enough to add this into Advanced Settings, but IMO it's unnecessary clutter. Recommend WONTFIX
(In reply to comment #2) > Is this needed? Everyone's prompted for region at the time of setup (regardless of wired/wireless), Not so Ben, if I have Ethernet plugged in, 'auto' connect happens. Im never asked for region
No, if you've auto connected then the first time you enter Network Setup you'll be asked for your region. I discussed this with Dean, and we decided to remove this menu from the settings. If you need to modify your region you need to factory reset the unit.
How about this: Can it be inserted into Network setup after wireless connection is selected when network setup is run from the Settings? That's where it belongs, but was removed. I assume Junien would be OK with that. Better yet, don't ask him.
