Bugzilla – Bug 11616
Continuous (watchdog) reboot and starting setup wizard
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:23:47 UTC
1. I have done a factory reset, and followed the installation wizard for wired ethernet. This caused a hangup while searching for the squeezenetwork. 2. The system reboots on watchdog. 3. I disconnected the ethernet cable. 4. After reboot the startup wizard appears with a question about the language. 5. If I wait a while and don't touch anything, the system reboots itself on watchdog over and over. This is an endles loop. Below the bootlog. look at the czip errors. I guess it is related. This is with revision 5033, while I was hoping to be able to upgrade from this version. It failed so far... == Executing boot script in 0.100 seconds - enter ^C to abort RedBoot> ubi attach -f 0x80000 -l 0x07EC0000 -w 0x800 -e 0x20000 -s 0x200 scanning 1014 PEBs ..............................................skipping bad block 23 ...................................................................................................................................................................................6 ....................skipping bad block 507 ...................................................................................................................................................................................2 ........................................................................................................................skipping bad block 803 ...................................................................................................................................................................................d RedBoot> ubi load -b 0x100000 kernel%{os_backup} RedBoot> exec -c %{os_cmdline}entry=0x80008000, target=0x80008000 Using base address 0x00100000 and length 0x001f8000 Uncompressing Linux.............................................................................................................................. done, booting the kernel. Created attachment 5028 [details] bootlog with network cable plugged in again
After plugging in the network cable the never-ending watchdog reboot sequence ends. There are however, a few strange things. (see also logging below) * It has already a network configuration (including IP-addr for eth0, seen in ifconfig output), while the setup wizard has just been started on the screen. It asks for a language setting, so I have 'officially' not yet configured the network, I still have to make the network configuration... * It also seems to have a stream to load, strange when installation wizard has not been completed... ==== bootlog with network cable plugged in attached ====
Richard: Isn't that something you fixed recently?
I suspect this was the synchronous DNS lookup triggering watchdog bug that was fixed a few days ago in r11569 (the log is from r5033). Remy is you see this again with later firmware please reopen the bug. Thanks.
