Description Stein David 2009-03-26 11:03:45 UTC
I am requesting that Redboot run its console if the kernel does not exist
and behave as it currently does if the kernel does exist.
I would like this behavior to remain consistent will all devices moving forward ie BabyBoom.

i think that it does stay in Redboot if the kernel does not exist, but it probably won't have an ip address. David can you capture a log on the serial console showing the problem.

From campfire:

David S.
Reboot comes up fine when the kernel is not present with or without ethernet.
Richard T.
ok, that's what i thought. so are you saying i don't need to change anything?
David S.
There is a problem when programming Redbot via serial from serial - it required ethernet else it times out.
Richard T.
michael, i can't recreate your string token bug. how do you do it?
David S.
I'll ask Caleb about that.
Richard T.
well i'll change nothing, unless you can clearly tell me what the problem is, and why the existing code won't work.

I'm marking this resolved for now. David if you work out what you actually need, then please reopen and I'll take a look.
