Its difficult if not impossible to adjust sliders accurately because your finger is I the way.

There needs to be some pop up or zoom up of the slider when using the touch panel.

This is a problem for volume control as well as intra track navigation.

We designed an expand treatment during the initial concept phase for this exact reason.  The direction was abandoned due to engineering constraints.  Providing attachment of last iteration...

Can we open up the discussion for some of the engineering constraints on implementing a slider popup?  I know in the past, there has been feedback about lag times for this kind of user feedback.

A better command on the limitations will lead to a better design...

we don't have the ability to do this with a slider widget right now, and the fact that volume isn't locally controlled needs to be fixed before we do anything else.
