Experiencing this intermittent problem using touch UI (haven't repro w/ remote yet) where the UI can't go into any menu items at any level (gives the error beep as if clicking on non-parent menu item). 

Returning to the home screen fixes the problem immediately.

FYI, this bug is a dup. don't know if it's fixed and can't find the bug number, but it's a dup. Has to do with some problematic code to avoid circular references. Tom, you got a bug number for that one?

Is a duplicate. I could spend more time on this since I know the source of the problem (and it affect 7.3 and 7.4 as well), but need more time for a solution. Shall I take that time?

I took the time :) This is fixed in r5283, and a port of it for 7.3 is also being explored

Forgot to mention: r5283 is 7.4 trunk, not fab4 branch, so this changes will trickle down to fab4 when the next merge occurs
