Bugzilla – Bug 11482
Indication of currently playing track on playlist not obvious
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:25:05 UTC
I selected My Music->Artist->The Alan Parsons Project->Play all to create a playlist consisting of 4 CDs. When I look at the playlist using the button on the upper right corner of the Now Playing screen (E.g., 14 of 60), the currently playing track was denoted by larger and bold font for track name, album name, and artist name. No album art for this track. It's not obvious that it denotes the currently playing track. I'm sure it's going to change so this is just to create a reminder. SC Version: 7.4 - 25564 @ Tue Mar 17 01:06:28 PDT 2009, Fab4 PB2 r4875 firmware
I believe this has been fixed. A music note is now displayed at the right of the current item in the playlist.
Please reopen if necessary.
I don't see a note on the current item. Did this unfix itself or was I mistaken?
I didn't repoen it, but I'm running r6488, playing a "my music" track and looking at the Current Playlist. There is currently no "note" icon to the right of the currently playing track. We need to add this back in...
One other minor bug with the currently playing item is that the thin separator line at the bottom of the item disappears.
fixed, r6615 Noah, can you review the assets for icon_nplay* for Fab4Skin? I have three, two of which are called icon_nplay_3line... are those the intended assets for selected/not selected? If the assets are correct, go ahead and close this.
Hi Ben, Please verify that we are using the Now Playing icon across all platforms. I have verified this in Fab4 only. Couple of issues: 1. Assets for 5 line (touch) skin should point to "icon_nplay_off.png" 2. The padding needs to be increased away from the right edge. Will provide guidelines ASAP. 3. The divider line (tch_5line_divider.png) is not displayed on the item below the current playing track.
Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the original product.

I think we're in fine shape on this bug, but I'm not sure I've addressed all of the items in comment#7. Noah, I don't think I have an up-to-date guideline for the playlist window. Remember that these are "touch-to-play" items, so they don't get the > symbol on the right. It's a separate discussion, but if there's anyplace where touch-to-play is frustratingly too easy to interrupt your current listening, it's on this window. If it were up to me current playlist items would pop a context menu by default on touch.
Created attachment 5567 [details] current playlist window as of r6912
It looks like the divider line is still missing.
don't understand where that line went, there's nothing in the skin that removes it in that style. retargetting as 8.0 as this bug is now Fab4-specific and does not affect other UIs.

This bug has been marked fixed in a released version of Squeezebox Server or the accompanying firmware or mysqueezebox.com release. If you are still seeing this issue, please let us know!
