Bugzilla – Bug 11449
Can't get the player off SqueezeNetwork
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:29:48 UTC
Sorry, I don't know if I chose the right component for this. The other night I connected my rev2 SB Touch to Squeezenetwork while doing server maintenance. Since then my server has come back, but the player will not stay connected to it. Well, it is, but it thinks it isn't! Every time I switch the music source to HPSERVER it stays for about 2 seconds and then reverts back to SqueezeNetwork. The spinny dot animation stays on the screen with "Connecting to SBTouch2" displayed--SBTouch2 is the player name I set in SN. I can get it to play local music, and it IS playing local music all the while the spinny animation is showing, so it is clearly connected to my Squeezecenter but all it shows on the screen is the "Connecting" message and animation... VERY annoying. I tried going to http://fab4.squeezenetwork.com and disconnecting the player there. It no longer shows connected on the right, but it still shows my WAN IP under the "Connected from" column, and the player is still doing the spinny thing. When I try to delete the player on the SN site, it tells me "You must disconnect this player before you can delete it."
We have seen that intermediately here too. Try a Factory Reset on the unit (press and hold the reset button on the uni or settings > advanced > factory reset) Then walk thought the setup again. Connect it to your WHS first, then SN, then WHS. See if you get the spinney of doom or not. You are correct, the device is on your local server, the problem is the device is in a bad communication state. Is the device Wired or Wireless? Whats the last 4 of your MAC address? FW version on the unit? should be r4875
Sorry... I forgot to mention that I have done multiple factory resets. At least 3 times today, using the press and hold button method. It doesn't seem to give me a choice of what to connect to first. For now I have it unplugged. It's connected wirelessly. Mac: 00:04:20:22:00:8A Firmware r4875
OK, I have deleted the player from the database..please plug it in and try again.
Just plugging it back in took me through the Squeezenetwork credentials and then it would not connect to my server. [Side note: I made a typo in my password and corrected it before clicking done. It rejected my credentials so I had to re-enter them. The second time I didn't make an error and it was accepted. It seems to be holding on to the original entry even though it was corrected with the delete button.] When it wouldn't connect to my server, I did another factory reset after which it prompted for a firmware update and then it connected to SqueezeCenter and it's behaving now.
reopen if this happens again. thx!
