Bugzilla – Bug 11432
Issues with OGG and SC 7.3.2 on Ubuntu 8.04
Last modified: 2009-10-07 15:23:39 UTC
Customer reported this issue a few weeks ago. We have since successfully downgraded to 7.3.0 and are able to stream ogg files to his Squeezebox fine. We skipped 7.3.1 and jump to 7.3.2 and we were able to reproduce the issue. Cutomer feel strongly that Ubuntu 8.04 should be supported still because it holds a higher priority for Ubuntu users than 8.10 does at the moment. When attempting to play Ogg from a Ubuntu 8.04 machine with SqueezeCenter 7.3.2, the file looks as though it is playing, but there is no audio.
This sounds like it might be a duplicate of bug 11006. I suggest trying a nightly of 7.3.3. If not it might be that sox needs to be updated on the customers system to include flac support covered in bug 9997.
Julius: please follow up with the customer in regards to the above comments. Assign back to QA if that does not help.
Emailed customer to try nightly 7.3.3 and awaiting response.
Since there's now a planned 7.3.3 release, bugs which won't make the cut-off are being moved to the next target out. If you feel that this bug needs to be addressed more (or less) urgently than the 7.4 release, please cc chris@slimdevices.com and leave a comment in the bug to that effect so we can review it. Thanks.
For some reason Bugzilla did not change the target when I did this yesterday. Or maybe it was me. In either case, I'm trying it again.
Moving to 8.0
Julius - Is this still an issue with 7.4?
