"Spash" screens shouldn't need progress bars.  Anything displayed long enough to require a progress bar should also have some text explanation of what's going on in the background.

I think the progress bar would be unnecessary visual noise, given that the timing is like this:
0 seconds - dark screen
7 seconds - logi logo
15 seconds - splash screen
22 seconds - home screen

If any were more than 10 seconds in length, I'd say we need a progress bar.
