Description Dan Evans 2009-03-10 15:35:56 UTC
When performing a factory reset-- either via menu, or holding the reset button-- there's a loud pop on the connected speakers.

Dan: this is on the headphone jack, right? If so, it's a known issue.
Comment 2 Dan Evans 2009-03-11 08:48:10 UTC
Good point. I didn't specify, but you're right. At that time I was connected via the headphone jack to my speakers.

The next build should have a fix for this problem.
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2009-03-25 14:19:12 UTC
Richard's working on minimizing the boot pops now.
Comment 5 Richard Titmuss 2009-03-26 05:19:07 UTC
Pops on boot have been fixed, but I think the headphone jack is a h/w problem.

Maurice is fixing for the MP build
Comment 7 Dan Evans 2009-04-01 09:14:10 UTC
Wait, we won't know if this hardware issue is fixed until the product is going out the door to customers? We won't know for PB3 or MPQ?
Comment 8 Blackketter Dean 2009-04-01 10:32:33 UTC
We'll know from unit testing the change before it gets released to hardware.

Also looking at ways to address this via software and rework for pre-MP hardware.
