Adding player PIN on SN sign-up page fails to add player

We're getting calls with customers who cannot add their players. They get an "Invalid PIN" error from SN. What we have learned is this happens on the account sign-up page, where there's the optional PIN box you can fill out. Adding your player there is failing. If you instead skip past and go into your account, and add your player on the Players tab, that succeeds. I have not tested this personally.
This seems to be primarily a SB Duet problem. (but that could be misleading as we mostly get Duet calls.)
Easy to reproduce here in MV. - have a player attach to testsn - have your Web Browser attach to SqueezeTest Start a new account sign up, attempt to attach a new player with pin, observe the error.
*note: web browser should point to test.squeezenetwork since the player is on testsn
Andy says he has an idea about what this might be. QA to review test coverage and add cases if necessary.
