Description Ben Gladstone 2005-03-18 11:03:36 UTC
the advanced search returns a list of songs, but if you're looking for an artist
or an album you might want to get the results at that level - ie a list of the
matching artists rather than all the songs from those artists.

a better behaviour than current might be to return a list of matching artists
(or albums) if just that field is used in an advanced search. the user could
then click on the correct artist and see all the songs

I was surprised to see that, using Advanced Search, a search for an Album called "Life" brought up a non-ordered list of all the tracks on any album with the word "Life" in the title. I was expecting just the name of the albums to be returned. The search took a long time to complete too and I wonder if it would be quicker if just the titles of the albums containing the search key word were returned.

At the very least, if returning individual tracks is to be retained the list ought to be ordered correctly.
