Description Marius Ono Wingerei 2009-02-14 07:15:58 UTC
I had previously installed SC by using RDC and installing the "normal" Windows version of SC to a none-default directory (E:\Squeezecenter). I wanted to try the MSI package for Windows Home Server and therefore I uninstalled the normal package but answered YES on the question "Keep you settings". When running the WHS MSI it installed to the e:\sq... directory where the "old" version was installed. After the installation the installer tries to launch the Squeezecenter.exe service-thing but fails. My guess is that it failed because it tried to launch the .exe from the default location and not the location the software was previously installed in. To be able to install the WHS MSI I had to remove it through add/remove programs and answering NO to the "Keep all settings"-question. After that I obviously had to configure Squeezecenter from scratch :-(

Steven, can you have a look at reproducing this one.
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2009-02-15 08:14:37 UTC
Please also try to reproduce _without_ uninstalling SC first.

Marius - where did you store the SC settings with the old configuration?
Comment 3 Michael Herger 2009-02-15 08:16:23 UTC
Oh, reading the description again, I see clearer what's wrong. Marius is right: the MSI installer tries to run SC from the default folder, ignoring where it actually is installed. I'll fix this.
Comment 4 Michael Herger 2009-02-16 07:14:11 UTC
change 25026 - install the SC service from whatever folder SC had been installed previously.

Marius - please give tomorrow's build another try and report back. Thanks!

Please re-open if this still doesn't work for you with the latest build (25060 or later)
