Description Mark Miksis 2009-02-11 12:28:17 UTC
I see that the various Player Information UIs now identifay the Fab4 as such and include the firmware rev. This is cool.

This is an enhancement request to add the following:
- Display the firmware rev in the same manner for the controller
- Display the Wireless Signal Strength for both the Fab4 and the controller in the same format that is used for an IP3K player info block
Comment 1 Blackketter Dean 2009-03-26 14:23:03 UTC
Mark: Which UIs are you talking about specifically?
Comment 2 Jim McAtee 2009-03-27 11:41:44 UTC
In the player ui don't see wireless strength anywhere, unless it's buried somewhere in one of the information screens.

Firmware rev is now show in the web ui, but fails to update correctly. Wireless signal strength is missing.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2009-03-27 12:25:51 UTC
It's under System Diagnostics now in the player UI.

Retargetting to the web UI

Have you changed the value being reported? No longer percentage, but SNR? My WAP reports 100% signal (Fab4 is 4 ft from WAP)
Comment 5 Jim McAtee 2009-03-27 12:51:16 UTC
(woops... premature submission)

Have you changed the value being reported? No longer a percentage, but SNR instead? My WAP reports 100% signal (Fab4 is 4 ft from WAP) while Fab4 reports '64 SNR'.
Comment 6 Anoop Mehta 2009-07-14 13:10:32 UTC
After speaking with Ross and Dan..maybe we should keep it at SNR but make lettering RED for bad strength, yellow for OK strength, and GREEN for Great strength?
Comment 7 Richard Titmuss 2009-07-20 02:34:05 UTC
Fixed for fab4 in r6671. The figure reported to SC is a SNR value, not a %.
Comment 8 Jim McAtee 2009-07-26 12:32:03 UTC
Is there an attempt being made right now in the web interface to translate the number to a percentage? The number I'm seeing reported for Fab4 ranges between 55% and 64%, but the Fab4 is sitting just a few feet from my wireless access point, which reports a 100% signal.
Comment 9 Richard Titmuss 2009-07-30 03:46:57 UTC
No, it's incorrectly reporting the SNR as a percentage. That's why the bug is still open.
Comment 10 Seth Schulte 2009-08-06 11:46:39 UTC
This is correctly displayed as a SNR value on the device UI, but incorrectly displayed as a percentage value on the SC UI, right?

Moving to P2. Hopefully if we finish off the remaining P1s we can pull this back in.
Comment 11 Richard Titmuss 2009-08-06 14:30:20 UTC
This reports wrong information and it misleading. It needs to be fixed for release. It won't take long.

Bug #11044
Fix wireless quality in SP to be reported as a %age, not the SNR.
Comment 13 Richard Titmuss 2009-08-19 15:15:47 UTC
Signal strength is now reported as a %age on all interfaces.
