Description Jaco 2009-02-01 11:54:05 UTC
I've noticed this behaviour quite regularly now. I play music from my SqueezeCenter on my PC. When I switch my Transporter off using either the remote control or the web interface its displays go off and the audio stops, so at this point I'm certain it is off. After I've done this I switch off my amplifier too. At some later point in the day when I switch my amplifier on again the music is playing although the Transporter is switched off! When I switch on the Transporter it continues playing without interruption, but now its displays are on. When I switch it off the displays go off and the audio stops. When I leave it on for long enough it just starts playing again!

Now I'm afraid to play any internet radio stations. If it does this with the internet radio stations it'll use up my monthly bandwidth cap in a few days without me being aware of this behaviour.

I've also noted that since upgrading to firmware 73 it does not display the time anymore when off, the displays are just blank.

Jaco: what version of SC do you have installed on your system? please include the build number.

What is your Power On Resume setting at?
What is your Screen Saver settings at?

What is the source of your stream you are listening to when you 'power off' the transporter?

Hi Richard,

Just because it works for you does not mean this case is resolved. It is happening frequently in my setup, so the problem is very real and it means there is some combination of things in my particular setup that's causing this to happen.

I have a suspicion that this started happening after my last upgrade of SqueezeCenter. One of my suspicions is that it may be caused by my wi-fi connection. Could it be caused by the connection being dropped and re-established again after the Transporter has been switched off?

Also, is there a way to do a hard reset of the Transporter? I've already tried the "Restore to factory settings" option, but the bug still persists after doing that.

Regards
Jaco

I will leave the bug open then, please continue to investigate the issue on your end. When you get more data, update the bug.
----------------------------------------------
You will need your IR remote to do a hardware reset on the transporter.

While doing a power cycle (hold down front panel power button till display cycles) press and hold the "1" button on the IR remote while it is pointed at the transporter.

You should see the words 'programming xilinx' flash on the display

Jaco: Have you had any progress on this bug?

You may want to give SC 7.3.3 a try to see if that works any better for you.
Comment 5 Jaco 2009-05-19 05:05:06 UTC
Hi, I upgraded to SC 7.3.3 as soon as it became available. I also did a hardware reset on the Transporter. The problem did still occur a few times after that, but lately I haven't seen it happening again. Somehow it "automagically" just disappeared.

After reading through this issue is seems that my original answers to your questions in comment #1 got lost. Here's the info:

> What is your Power On Resume setting at?
Pause at power off / Remain paused at power on

> What is your Screen Saver settings at?
Screensaver when playing: Jump to Now Playing
Screensaver when stopped: None
Screensaver when off: Date & Time
Screensaver delay time in seconds: 20

> What is the source of your stream you are listening to when you 'power off' the
transporter?

The source of my stream is music files stored on my SqueezeCenter PC.

Something else I noticed is that when it starts playing again after I've switched off the player the audio only goes out through the SPDIF output, but not through the analogue outputs. Stopping the playback and starting it again then correctly sends the audio to the analogue outputs too.

Jaco: sorry about the delay in responding to you, are you still seeing the issue?
Comment 7 Jaco 2009-09-16 06:17:19 UTC
No, I haven't seen this behaviour again since my last comment
