Description vagskal 2009-02-01 03:28:34 UTC
I understand (now) that music files pushed to SC and played there are automatically added to the SC database if they are not already in there according to the exact file path registered in SC. This can in some instances lead to unwanted consequences, see this link for an example of duplicate entries being registered in the SC database due to use of different path naming schemes to reference the same file: http://klarita.net/forum/index.php?topic=175.0

The user should have an option to not have SC add played music files to the database.

Just a clarification: When I say pushed to SC I mean pushed through the SC CLI interface from another application.

(Files browsed and/or played in SC through the Browse Music Folder could/should still be added to the SC database, i.a. to provide a quick way of adding new music to the SC database.)

"Version 1.0.25 has a path prefix equivalence mapping which should help avoid this issue in future."

This should be fixed via the plug-in
