Description Keith Jose 2005-03-14 14:54:47 UTC
Running SlimServer 6.0b on OS X 10.3.8 with Squeezebox, 1st generation.
From my Squeezebox, if I select the iTunes menu item to browse music, the
SlimServer crashes/dies. Other attempts at browsing music, such as browse by:
genre, artist, album are all fine.

I'm not following this. where is itunes mentioned in the player ui?

can you provide specific crash message from the log?

Hi - on my player, the following root menus exit:

-> Now Playing
-> Browse Music
-> Browse Playlists
-> iTunes
-> Internet Radio
-> Slim Devices Picks
-> ... (a few others) ...

When I select the iTunes menu, I get a message on my player that it lost
communication with the server. When I check the server, from the SlimServer
preference pane in OS X, the server shows that it's not running. When I restart
the server, then the player goes back to normal, but I'm never able to access
this iTunes menu (the same crash occurs if I do).

I've included some info from /Library/Logs/slimserver.log :

There should not be an iTunes menu item there, and it is never intended to be
used as a mneu item (as there is no player UI). iTunes imports to 'browse
albums', etc. For some reason its start home menu options, and should be
removed from doing so

OK, it just showed up when I installed v6.0b.. wasn't there in 5.x

I'll just not use it.

Thx

It was my mistake. The itunes plugin in what we call an importer plugin. It
brings data into every other browse mode, but has no player UI. Other plugins
like this will no longer be listed as of revision 2521, so that this confusion
wont happen again.

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
