Bugzilla – Bug 10868
Line Out Attenuation - Does not change overall volume on Boom jack
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:14:07 UTC
Adjusting the "Preamp Volume Control" on the Boom does not change line-out (headphone-out)jack volume behavior. The jack output changes with overall volume settings but is NOT attenuated more or less with settings from 0 to 63.0. From SqueezeNetwork, Player, Audio Tab,"Preamp Volume Control,"apply "secondary … attenuation in decibels." Has no effect on total volume of output jack. This behavior is not influenced by changing jack output from Headphone to Subwoofer out. SB3 does change overall volume at analog output jack with changes in Preamp Volume Control.
Steven to see if this is in the player settings page, and work with Caleb to figure out whether it should be there and isn't working or can be removed.
Preamp Volume Control should not be offered for Boom on SqueezeNetwork since this feature is not supported on Boom. SqueezeCenter does not offer Preamp Volume Control for Boom which is the correct behavior. nowork, do you have a compelling reason why this feature should be supported on Boom? If so we can change this bug to a feature request. Bug 2431 might already cover this. Assigning to Andy to remove this option for Boom on SqueezeNetwork.
Hi, From what I understand, the Boom hardware could support line out attenuation? It is just not implemented? I wanted/want attenuate the line out, subwoofer output of the Boom since adjusting my subwoofer analog INPUT (via its physical volume knob) still makes my subwoofer play to loudly. If the Boom could attenuate its line OUTPUT, then the problem would be solved. Thanks,
