Description Marc Auslander 2009-01-23 10:34:45 UTC
On 7.3.3 r3856 network test is broken for me.

If I invoke it, it starts but the scroll wheel does not change the speed. Other buttons appear to work. Also, the screen is dim, I don't remember it being that way before.
Comment 1 Mikael Nyberg 2009-01-23 23:12:59 UTC
broken for 7.4 r3822 too but screen is not dim it tests with 2000kbps,
and the "press right for help" button does not work*.
graphs move during test so it apears to test anyway.

If you try the test a couple of times at least five.

Controller may come up with a fault message saying "network test bl bla plugin not activated in SC" or similar, as all other of these popup messages it is displayed to briefly to read and memorize (hint hint ).

Enabling performance monitoring via help> etc does not do anything, still the same

checking my settings: Server and network healt plugin IS activated, so fault message is false.

* this because help is mapped to the center button not the "rigth" button so text is wrong or the wrong button is mapped for the function.

Tom - the underlying problem here appears to be that the applet no longer gets scroll events. Can you confirm if anything has changed in the api.

Re Mikael's comment about the "Right" - this is the best description I could find for the centre "button" as it is the right arrow on the desktop version so it can't be described as the Button.
Comment 3 Marc Auslander 2009-01-24 12:41:28 UTC
I think a usual generic term for what the button does is select.

Richard seems to have an idea about how to fix this.
Comment 5 Richard Titmuss 2009-01-27 02:10:35 UTC
Fixed in r3951.

The event handling changed in r3395, so that child widget (in this case the help text area) process events before the window event listeners. This change is needed to correctly support mouse events.

I meant to say this is fixed in 7.3.3 r3951. I've cloned this bug to track 7.4 issues that are possible different.
