If it's not there, you just get an error message about wmvcore.dll not being
present.

Would be nice to possibly have the windows installer check for wmvcore.dll and
if it's absent give the user a message at that point...  Or at least if you
received a more intuitive error message somehow.

What is wmvcore.dll ? Is this for wmadec.exe ?

wmvcore.dll is the video playback library. When do you see this, Kevin?

you see this if you try to run wmadec with wmp not installed.
