Bugzilla – Bug 10721
Splitting of album problem caused by speical double-byte characters in filename
Last modified: 2009-06-17 09:36:20 UTC
FACTS - Songs (all in one directory) in one album will be split by Squeezecenter with exactly the same album name. - Files are in AIFF/ ALAC format - It is always repeatable and consistent no matter how many full "rescan" is done. - Tired in both SC 7.3.1, 7.4. Both are in XP version. --------------------------------------------------------- After investigation, it is caused by some special double-byte chinese characters. (known as Big-5 Coding) eg. "許" <-- this character with ASCII code as "B35C" "功" <-- this charaacter with ASCII code as "A55C" "蓋" <-- this charaacter with ASCII code as "A55C" It is very likely that SC has some problem seeing "5C" which means "\". I tired to take out such speical character and the album will be combined and problem solved. ---------------------------------------------------------- I am not familar with programming, I thought the system now is using unicode UTF-8 and the above should no longer be a problem. Is my problem in Windows XP? or it can be fixed in the SC? Thanks
