Description James Richardson 2009-01-14 08:51:54 UTC
When modifying 'Web Server Port Number' from 9000 to any other number, then the corresponding port entry in <brand x> fire wall does not get modified.

The user would have to manually edit their firewall setting to the new port. If they don't then SC may not function properly.

SC should modify the port setting OR at least pop up a message when APPLY is clicked stating that the user needs to manually modify their fire wall port entry.

SC can't do this as it's (usually) not running as a privileged user.

We need to improve the message/documentation. A user tweaking ports should be able to tweak ports in a firewall, too.

BTW: if the port change is done during installation (which happens automatically if SC discovers a port conflict) then the firewall is configured appropriately.
