Description tim courtney 2009-01-13 20:34:13 UTC
CBS radio station streams take 5+ seconds to stream.

Same streams on competitive products stream in 1-2 seconds.

It took a while to figure out this was not a latency issue with the FW.

thanks!

QA to investigate.

Please turn logging to debug for player.source & player.stream*

recreate the error, then attach your server.log file to this bug

do you have proxy streaming on or off? settings > player > audio > mp3 streaming method

Does the same thing happen if you are connected to SqueezeNetwork, or only on SqueezeCenter

What version of SqueezeCenter are you running
What firmware version is on your Boom

There is no error.

One of the developers on the forum said it is a known issue.

I could not find a bug report so I opened.

Issue is with SC and SN, on both commercial and beta FW and loads.

Test yourself with station 610 and 1210 am in Philadelphia.

thanks!

Our stream scanning is pretty complex and does probably result in
extra delay if a stream has many alternate streams or nested
playlists. I have been meaning to improve this but haven't got around
to it yet.

Any estimeate on eta to fix?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

I really like my boom!

Note there is a workaround, and that is to use the direct stream URL rather than going via RadioTime.

I have used all the links available outside of RadioTime. (tested am610)

They all work great on PC, Sonos, aol radio on iTouch, and RoKu but not on your product.

Should I return it or wait for a bug fix?

Note, this is just a CBS radio issue.

thanks!

Moving 7.4 bugs to 8.0.
