Bugzilla – Bug 10645
Improve pausing on remote sources that support seeking
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:28:18 UTC
If playing a remote stream that supports seeking (podcasts, Pandora, Rhapsody, etc), pausing the player for an indefinite amount of time should be allowed. When pausing, disconnect the stream. When unpausing, seek to resume the stream. Alan: how hard do you think this would be to support?
I'm not sure. Probably not that hard. I would consider adding it to the enhancement to stop remote paused streams after the player buffer fills.
Change 26652.
Note that this only supports streams where canSeek is true, which does not include Pandora.
Just downloaded the latest release and tried a BBC Radio "Listen Again" programme via BBCiPlayer plugin. I paused the 75 minute programme at 3 different points and continued, and it played until the end. Previously it would just play until the buffer was exhausted then stopped. So, it works for me :)
