Description Dave Dash 2009-01-09 08:18:13 UTC
If I play a pandora station, it will play a single song and then dead silence. I'm using the "ad supported" pandora, but I'll upgrade if that fixes this. However, I think it's misleading that Pandora works ad-supported on the squeezebox if that's the case.

Serverlog reports nothing.

The player (on the web interface) seems to indicate that there's 30 seconds left before it goes blank. It seems to be partially into the song. After 30 seconds it appears to repeat the track, but it's really just blank.

Dave: does the same thing happen when connected to SqueezeNetwork? or with any of the other streaming services, like Slacker / Rhapsody / Sirius?
Comment 3 Dave Dash 2009-01-09 08:47:47 UTC
In a playlist, I think it will skip through tracks just fine. I can't verify this for sure at the moment since a lot of my playlists have m4a files which it isn't playing (I filed a seperate bug https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10610).

Unfortunately, this is a new device for me, and I'm running into a lot of problems at once, so it's me trying to untangle a big rats nest. I restarted the squeezecenter since it seemed to be using far too much CPU. And then I restarted my Boom in order for it to connect directly to SqueezeNetwork... but for some reason it can't obtain a new IP address.

I'll try one of the other 3 services later tonight (have to go to work today) and see what happens.

I've seen this happen, but only if I have multiple players synced.
Comment 5 Dave Dash 2009-01-09 09:11:44 UTC
If I connect to the SqueezeNetwork and play my last.fm it plays just fine.

Is there a difference between playing pandora via SqueezeNetwork vs SqueezeCenter? I'm going to try playing via SqueezeNetwork next.
Comment 6 Dave Dash 2009-01-09 09:19:13 UTC
Okay this is strictly via the SqueezeCenter where it's giving me trouble. Via SqueezeNetwork pandora behaves fine.

Dave: Good to know so far. In SC, go to Settings > Advanced > Logging

Change the following to DEBUG

(player.source) - Player Source Audio & Conversion Logging
(player.streaming) - All Player Streaming Logging
(player.streaming.direct) - Player Direct Streaming Logging
(plugin.pandora) - Pandora

Then, reproduce the issue.

On settings > logging : you will see the 'log' folder location. Find the log and attach it to this bug.

Okay so after enabling debugging things seem to work fine.

I'm going to make sure I'm playing the same station, just in case that made a difference.

I hope this isn't one of those problems that goes away because of debugging ;)

If this occurs again, I'll reopen this.

Cheers,
-d
