Not part of the design, the player UI is the only way to select a different stream.

Eventually yes.  The initial implementations typically only have 1 stream.  In cases with more streams, the store should be making the station choices.  The admin console shouldn't become a remote control.  Focus is on management and troubleshooting.

I can see a need for it for testing or initial set up.  Would be good if the VAR can use the console as a mini-test station to force tune to multiple channels to ensure they work properly (didn't mistype URL for long lists that we don't verify).

For initial release, not required.
