Bugzilla – Bug 10487
Rhapsody Max three ( 3 ) streams
Last modified: 2008-12-29 12:12:25 UTC
When I initially set up system last night, it worked fine. 2 Squeeze Duets, 2 Squeeze Booms. Was able to sync all, and also play different streams through all. Both booms and 1 Duet are wired, other duet is 802.11g wireless. This morning, with 1 duet playing a Rhapsody channel stream, I tried to play an album from Rhapsody on a boom, and display stated that it could only play 3 rhapsody streams, and refused to play. I was only playing 1 stream, so this made no sense, and furthermore, I should be able to play as many streams as I want through my home network on rhapsody. I have tried going through squeeze center, and squeeze network, and get same response on both.
Sync on players is just timing. They are still each separate streams. Thus, the Rhapsody-imposed limit of three streams is hit. If you are using SC 7.3 or newer, then there is a way to enable this feature using multiple Rhapsody accounts: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=290031&postcount=4 Specifically speaking, this is not a bug, so I'm going to mark it as invalid. If you have an troubles with the process in the forum thread above, please feel free to ask for help in the forums.
Also note that in 7.3+ you can sync as many players to Rhapsody as you want. Each sync group counts as 1 stream. You can have a max of 3 streams. If you add a 4th stream, the first player will get bumped off and receive an error.
