Description Dag Flomstad 2008-12-27 23:51:28 UTC
Precision on accelerated scroll is not good.
Library approx 1000 cd's. Entering musiclibrary/artist, I get the list of all artists:

1. Starting to turn the wheel to find an artist on "T". I takes too much time to scroll down. Starting to turn faster the letters accelerate, but then it goes to fast and I will pass "T" and have to scroll up.

2. Also the speed on turning the wheel before the acceleration occurs is too high. Its so high that it is difficult to keep that speed long enough to reach the letter scrolling for.

* * * * *

Suggest adjust the turning speed required on the wheel to accelerate scroll
And if still not precise, suggest adjust the speed of the accelerated scroll it self.

Also suggest take a look at Sonos's power scroll feature. Could it be implemented on SBC?

I have almost given up using the controllers due to the dire scrolling implementation. If this functionality is ever looked at again perhaps the iPhone model might be adopted, even down to including the A-Z listing on the right hand side of the screen.

Yes, it is really frustrating to use. I rarely use the Controller because of this.

 I have 4 controllers and am frustrated that such basic functionality is not better refined. It makes it hard to convince family members to use the system.

Slim Devices could easily implement some scroll sensitivity settings in the advanced menu.
It should have both linear and logaritmic settings, so that users could fine tune the controllers response to his liking.

This should really not be necessary (as it ought to work _a lot_ better out of the box), but it would mean a "quick'n'dirty" fix while we await a proper solution.

Slim Devices, get your fingers out!
No wonders why many of us considers Sonos, even though it is 3 times the prize.
