Description Mark Miksis 2008-12-27 12:24:24 UTC
This probably applies to both the SBC and Fab4. I'd like to see the title bar on the Now Playing screen include the player name like: "Now Playing (Kitchen)"
Comment 1 Blackketter Dean 2008-12-30 11:26:34 UTC
On Fab4, I suggest that the title bar only shows the player name for players other than itself.

Brian to comment.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2009-01-05 09:03:23 UTC
Matt's working on the settings.

I agree with Dean's comment number 1 - if we display this at all, it's only relevant if the music is coming from a different player. (If I'm in the kitchen, listening to the "kitchen" player, why do I need additional messaging telling me the music is coming from the "kitchen" player? The information is redundant).

This is all part of the "optimizing the single-player experience..."

I suppose I'm fairly ambivalent to Dean's comment. I'm not sure what Matt's big picture is for "optimizing the single-player experience...", but another option might be to only display the name on the local player if SC or SN has more than one attached player.

In any case, there's a lot of discussion on the Fab4 forum about using the Fab4 as a controller. I think my request applies mostly in those cases and I've often wanted this on the SBC.

Don't think this will work with current design; in any case, needs to be punted to multi-device optimization which happens after 8.0...
