Bugzilla – Bug 10456
Turn off S/PDIF optical LED when not playing
Last modified: 2011-08-30 07:51:16 UTC
My Fab4 isn't playing now, but it's LED is on in the back. Can we turn this off altogether when not playing?
Do you want to do this? If a user has a receiver which selects between inputs then it may switch to another input as soon as you press pause/stop. Also I think this is done with a pref on SB2/3 as there are hifi dacs without mute circuits which will "pop" if you turn the SB on/off before the amp.
I think this is an issue that probably needs a setting (there have been requests for this behavior, which has been impossible on SB3.) Bug 10077.
Reset priority before triage.
moving current p2 bugs to p3 to make room for moving p1.5 bugs to p2
The history of this bug goes back to a year ago from bug 1397, to bug 10077 and now 10456. With the result that some of the history is also lost. Like all the other users that commented bug 10077, I also have a DAC that auto senses the input. All the other sources that I have correctly power off the coax/toslink output when I power them off (e.g. the Jolida CD player, the Oppo Blu-Ray player) ONLY THE SB3 DOES NOT. I was hoping to buy a SB Touch to get rid of the problem but the presence of this bug here seems to mean that it exists on the SB Touch too. Why is this taking so long? What is the problem to power off the output on the SB3 too like all the others do? Al
Administrative move of 7.5 bugs. All P2, P3, P4 being downgraded one level. Will then split P1s.
