with player.source and player.sync logging options

I'm having some trouble with 7.3 and my SLIMP3. Whenever the SLIMP3 is in a sync
group, the players never play more than the first track of a new playlist.
The song completes, and then the playback stops. The track doesn't seem to
advance after that. The playlist files are normal mp3 files. I tried a
SLIMP3+SLIMP3, SLIMP3+SB1 and SLIMP3+SB3 and they all have the same issue.
SB1+SB3 was fine, so I think it is the addition of the SLIMP3 causing
the trouble. I've attached a server log with player.source and player.sync
logging. If you need more debug information, let me know.

I don't have any sync-related Plugins (except QuickAccess, which isn't coming
into play here). This definitely worked ok in the 7.x series, but I can't
remember for sure if it was 7.2 or an earlier 7.x version. Thanks for any help.

Steven to investigate
Comment 2 Spies Steven 2008-12-22 13:23:31 UTC
I have not been able to reproduce on Mac OS X or Ubuntu with a SLIMP3, Squeezebox Classic and a Transporter. I had no issues with continuous playback when the SLIMP3 was part of the sync group or not.

Jason, you may wish to try disabling all plugins just to see if it makes a difference.

Alan, do you see anyhting in the log or have any other suggestions?
Comment 3 Jason Holtzapple 2008-12-22 14:34:10 UTC
I saw 7.3.1 was just released, so I upgraded to that and disabled all my plugins. Unfortunately the problem persisted. I tried playing playlists, albums and artists, shuffled and not shuffled, and the tracks still won't advance. Are there any additional debugging options that might give some insight? I'm reluctant to go back to 7.2. Thanks...

I don't really see enough in the log to see what may have been going on. Please can you attach a longer log showing at least one full track transition.
Comment 5 Alan Young 2008-12-23 04:02:18 UTC
Jason, what types of track (mp3, flace,...) are you trying to include in your playlist in general?

Comment 7 Jason Holtzapple 2008-12-23 07:32:34 UTC
My playlists are mp3 files (LAME encoded VBR). I attached a new log with some more debug options turned on. The first thing I tried was syncing a SLIMP3 and SB1 with an unshuffled playlist. The first song ended at about 08:15:51. I let the players idle for a bit. The default skin shows a full progress bar with no advancement during this point. At around 8:17:19, I switched to shuffle play and played an album. Again, after the first track it stalled and I left the log running for a while.
Comment 8 Alan Young 2008-12-23 08:15:42 UTC
Are you sure that you get the problem with a SliMP3 and SB3 combination?
Comment 9 Alan Young 2008-12-23 08:29:59 UTC
I am pretty sure that this does not occur with SliMP3/SB3 combination but will occur with any sync-group composed solely of SliMP3s and SB1s.
Comment 10 Jason Holtzapple 2008-12-23 08:30:44 UTC
I ran through some playlists and albums with the SLIMP3+SB3 and sync is working correctly now. Only SLIMP3+SLIMP3 and SLIMP3+SB1 are having trouble. I'm not sure about the earlier result: I was running 7.3 instead of 7.3.1 but otherwise it was the same test.
