Description Wallace Lai 2008-12-19 09:44:51 UTC
Note: This is a 7.4 Jive firmware bug, not 7.3.2. 7.3.2 was chosen as the Target Milestone because there is no 7.4 in that drop down menu at this time.

Note 2: This is blocking the Auto Smoke Tests of the Jive.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot the Jive to start the Smoke Tests.
2. Smoke Tests Sys updates the Jive to jive_7.3_r3476.bin first, and test PlayModes. It passed perfectly.
3 Then the Jive is updated to jive_7.4_r3507.bin, and test PlayModes. Again, all passed.
4 Now that the Jive has 7.4 firmware, reboot the Jive to start another round of tests.
5. Notice the Jive unit jumps into the Software Update menu, instead of the Auto Tests menu. Smoke Tests does not start.
6. Put the 7.3 release build firmware back to Jive. Smoke tests can start.

Tried the same tests on new 7.3.1 Jive FW, 7.3 r3550. No problem at all. This happens on 7.4 only.

log shows MacroPlay as loading but not doing anything.

Dec 17 15:23:16 SqueezeboxController user.info jive: (AppletManager.lua:297) - Registering: MacroPlay
Dec 17 15:23:16 SqueezeboxController user.info jive: (AppletManager.lua:539) - Loaded: MacroPlay

Wallace can you post the contents of the Macros.lua file from the 7.4 controller that refuses to start the smoke test? File is on the SD card.

Comment 3 Wallace Lai 2008-12-19 15:01:36 UTC
Figured out the problem. Path for SD cards in Jive 7.4 and the new product are both /media/mmcblk0p1. In Jive, it had always been mnt/mmc. Changing the tests script to handle this now.

Hi, Ben and Richard,

James is wondering whether the change of path is intented, or a bug.
Comment 5 Wallace Lai 2008-12-22 10:09:42 UTC
Changed the code to handle this.
