Bugzilla – Bug 10389
ASX playlist repeats, even if playmode repeat is off
Last modified: 2009-06-09 16:14:26 UTC
When trying to play an URL from NPR (e.g. http://thin.npr.org/dmg.wax?mediaUrl=/npr/me/2008/12/20081218_me_01&mediaPref=WM ) Two bugs show up. 1. The URL never stops playing - it just keeps repeating even if repeat is off 2. The handling of ASX <ENTRY> is not right as a result of a bug fix to bug #9674 The NPR ASX has an <ENTRY> which have an MMS and a HTTP URL - these are alternates - one or other should be used. However as a result of the bug fix for 9674 - all URLs are added to a playlist but HTTP urls are converted by SC to MMS URLs so the playlist has two identical URLs. When SC plays this playlist of 2 identical URLs - it gets mixed up and is not sure it has finished playing one URL and so it restarts. There are two fixes needed. 1. A playlist of two identical URLs should be handled properly 2. The ASX <ENTRY> should not allow identical URLs in a list of alternate URLs - I have suggested a patch for this in #9674.
Andy: your thoughts?
the link plays fine for me with repeat off in SC 7.2.1
(In reply to comment #2) > the link plays fine for me with repeat off in SC 7.2.1 > correction - it plays fine, & does repeat at the end of play. This happens even if player - repeat is off. So this is a confirmation of the error as reported.
Change 24453 will hide the problem when testing the suggested URLs. The problem still remains and can be created by having a playlist with two identical URLs.
We are now planning to make a 7.3.3 release. Please review your bugs (all marked open against 7.3.3) to see if they can be fixed in the next few weeks, or if they should be retargeted for 7.4 or future. Thanks!
Since there's now a planned 7.3.3 release, bugs which won't make the cut-off are being moved to the next target out. If you feel that this bug needs to be addressed more (or less) urgently than the 7.4 release, please cc chris@slimdevices.com and leave a comment in the bug to that effect so we can review it. Thanks.
For some reason Bugzilla did not change the target when I did this yesterday. Or maybe it was me. In either case, I'm trying it again.
