Ticket # 081215-000805

Enhancement Request:

Customer would like to suggest that you can sort and play music on the Squeezebox by composer.

Troubleshooting:

I looked thoroughly through SqueezeCenter 7.3, and could not find a feature in which this could be enabled. The closest feature I found was as follows:

Setting > Music Library > "Composer, Band and Orchestra in Artists"

You can enable "Composer" so that it will show this information will show up int he Artist list for browsing and searching, but nothing for sorting by composer.

Thanks,

LaRon

one of the problems with SC as i see it, is that it makes you use only a "master list."

there's nothing wrong with making a master list via whatever rules, but it shouldn't be the only option.

SC does, imo, need a way to sort and browse via strictly someones tags. take my files for instance... i have TPE1 and TPE2 values. i also have other tags filled out. i should be able to sort and browse via ANY of them, and them alone.

the way it is now, SC tries to use certain rules and so on (based on not just the SC settings, but its own logics) to make a master list. this isn't always conducive to what i want, nor is there always a way to make master list the way i want.

this request just illustrates the problem. i think SC should have a "browse by tags alone" mode, and a second "master list" mode that is similar to what you have now, except the current SC logics should be made optional, and a user should be able to select which tags to include in the master list.

Alan, i thought this might be inside the scope of onebrowser
