Bugzilla – Bug 10366
Adjacent placement of "back" button and menu icon is confusing
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:19:59 UTC
The "back" button is adjacent to an icon which apparently represents the current menu -- ie. a wrench for Settings. "Back" is a touch point while the menu icon is not, but since they look similar, they both appear to be touch points. This caused trouble, as I was being careful to hit "back" and not the icon, before I realized that the icon is not a touch point.
This is a UI design issue. Assigning to Brian, cc:ing Noah
Noah already has this feedback from me.
I had the same problem. Offhand, I think the menu icon could probably blend in more with the background (at least colour-wise). Also, given we're working with a touchscreen, the back button could even be removed in favour of basic gesture support, stroke back for "back", down for scroll down, etc.
