Bugzilla – Bug 10353
Firmware 70 produces static sound between songs.
Last modified: 2012-02-27 17:33:06 UTC
Customer updated his ReadyNAS to 7.3 from 7.2.1. All working well but there is a strange sound between songs. This happens when a song ends and the next song about to start. The sound is not pure static electronic sound, but similar. We reverted back to 7.2.1 and the problem disappears. Reinstalled 7.3 again the problem shows up. The strange sound seems to be produced by upgrading the firmware to 70. SC= 7.3 Nas version Transporter firmware = 70 RN= 081216-000706
Steven: can you investigate this one
Osama, did the customer happen to mention what type of files are being played?
Hello James, The Customer said all his files are in Apple Lossless format.
Osama: Please ask the customer to try the latest 7.3.1 BETA of SqueezeCenter. It contains a new Firmware version for Transporter that may address the issue. Have him add comments to this bug if that does or does not address the issue.
Send email to the customer to try 7.3.1.
[MDSmith]: I am using almost exclusively AppleLossLess files with my Transporter which is now on firmware version 71. I am NOT noticing any static / noise between tracks. My config is Windows XP (Dell Dimension) with my files (Itunes library) resident on a LaCie Giga Ethernet NetDrive (when are you going to support this NAS?). mds
Customer reported 7.3.1 has resolved the problem.
