Description Dana Puopolo 2008-12-15 21:44:24 UTC
I Installed the new version of squeezcenter, v7.3. Last.fm stopped working. When you try to use it the Squeezebox tells you you need to register. I'm already registered! I tried to re-register and it made no difference. I noticed in the third party plugins forum that several others are having the same problem after they upgraded to 7.3, so it isn't jusy me. Please look into this ASAP as I miss my last.fm!

Thanks!

Please link the forum thread to this bug

Do you have the Last.FM plug-in installed? if so, please remove it as it may be causing a conflict

What version of SC were you running before?

Okay. I removed the Last.fm plugin. Now last.fm is completely gone. What do I do now?

The old version of SqueezeCenter was 7.2

Please re-install SC 7.3

Also, I noticed on your SN account, you did not enter an account for Last.FM. I think this may be the root of the issue.

You need register your Last.FM account with SN and link it to your Last.FM account.

Okay, I've made progress. I downloaded the correct firmware at Sourceforge and unzipped the tree into the proper directory (per the readme). I again set up my username and password with last.fm.

Now everything looks okay-Though I now find last.fm located in interet radio instead of music services where it used to be. Now it seems to connect-except that I get no audio-and the squeezebox count up timer remains at 00:00-though the timer in squeezecenter DOES count upwards.

Any advice?

You have confused me, there is no special firmware that you should need to download or install.

1) Please Uninstall SqueezeCenter from your system
2) Connect your Player to your SqueezeNetwork account
3) Attempt to access Last.FM

Let me know if that works.

I completely disconnected the computer running Squeezenetwiork from the network. Of course, the Squeezebox could find it and so i has it connect to Squeeze network. When i go to try to connect to Last.fm from Squeeze netoork, I get a message that says: "Your last.fm account is not yetauthorized to use SqueezeNetwork. Please visit www.squeezenetwwrk,com to authorize access."

I AM registered and I have re-registered at squeeze network 10 times!

Please go to www.squeezenetwork.com and log onto your account
Once you are logged in, click on Accounts tab
In the Accounts Tab, click on Last.FM
On the Last.FM Account Tab, enter your Last.FM account name and password, follow the directions from there.

Let me know what happens.

I've done that 15 times and it dosn't take. When the 7.3 SqueezeCenter first ran, I noticed that the squeezebox auto updated its firmware. Could that be the problem?

Dana: Please contact our support team, they will need to walk you through the procedure to get your Last.FM account properly synced with SqueezeNetwork.

Dana: were you able to contact Logitech Support and resolve this issue?

You need to Authorize your Last.FM account on SqueezeNetwork.

to do that, open a web browser, log onto SqueezeNetwork. Open a NEW TAB in your browser or a new browser window. Log onto your Last.FM account. Got back to the Squeezenetwork account tab/window. Enter your last.fm account data <click> save. Then, click on the hyper link <Authorize this account>. That should open a new window asking you to validate the Last.FM Authorization.

I did as you suggested in comment 10 and things are working now! Thanks!

I also upgraded to version 7.3.2 of Squeezecenter, which seemed to make things like Alien BBC smoother.

Thanks and have agreat new year!
