Bugzilla – Bug 10256
Rhapsody Playback Issues
Last modified: 2009-05-06 07:08:16 UTC
While using Rhapsody and Squeezecenter 7.3, in conjunction with at least - Squeezebox duet, (but probably not limited to that, may occur in other hardware, I don't know), I experience the following: -Rhapsody tracks often times stop in the middle of songs. -Rhapsody channels often stop during or between songs - especially while synced. -Rhapsody tracks take a fair amount of time to sync, and don't do it well. Often times leaving behind one player. -If a Rhapsody playlist or channel stops during a song, it will not restart until you click "next." I've done a network test on both my players, they both look good.
Fred: Do you have your players Synced?
(In reply to comment #1) > Fred: Do you have your players Synced? > James, It happens when not synced, but it happens more commonly while synced.
Indeed after the recent SN & firmware 120 upgrade I've encountered several cases of Rhapsody unexpectedly stopping in mid-track. This is with a single player, no sync involved. I'll try to get a debug log. Similar incidents reported in the forums
BTW there is nothing we can do to fix this bug... it is a Rhapsody problem.
Andy, I take this to mean that we won't be able to get Rhapsody on our SB's and if that is the only way we listen to Rhapsody, we should cancel our subscription. Howard
Not at all, I am merely saying that the problem is a software/scalability issue on the Rhapsody side. Last I heard they plan to roll out a fix for this tomorrow.
Ticket #081122-000170 Another customer is still experiencing this issue. Also, I actually have this happen to me at home and here in the office, which seems to be fairly common now. Any word on when Rhapsody is to upgrade to improve this reliability issue?
No word yet.
Ticket Reference: 081209-004146 Another customer with the same issue. Thanks again Andy.. LaRon
Rhapsody rolled out their update last night.
Experiencing same issues - unable to play Rhapsody playlists or even albums continuously. Play stops after as few as two songs.
(In reply to comment #11) > Experiencing same issues - unable to play Rhapsody playlists or even albums > continuously. Play stops after as few as two songs. > Not sure this is exactly the same bug. I have one Squeezebox Duet and one Squeezebox Receiver (SBR). Before today I had a free account at Rhapsody, and could play it at both SBRs. Today I signed up for "On the Go" account. Now all of a sudden, one SBR doesn't work. Says "...not a valid session id...Invalid playback session. A max of three streams are allowed at one time." The other SBR plays fine. Among many of other things, I've also done a factory reset of the controller and the faulty SBR; problem remains. Doesn't matter if they are synced or not. Please let me know if this is a different but and I'll open an new report. Regards, ~dbinfl~
As above, I get the same message on a single SB. "...not a valid session id...Invalid playback session. A max of three streams are allowed at one time."
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeNetwork! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
