Bugzilla – Bug 10236
Playback ceases after several tracks
Last modified: 2009-06-17 09:35:49 UTC
Created attachment 4387 [details] SqueezePlay stderr and stdout logs SqueezePlay is unable to maintain playback for an album or playlists. Every version tested has stopped after between two and five tracks. Steps to Reproduce: Start SqueezePlay, select an album or playlist and press play. Actual Results: Playback begins, but sound cuts out within 2-5 tracks. There is a brief pop-up message that mentions re-buffering and the sound cuts out. The elapsed time status bar cycles within the same song indefinitely. Player does not advance to next song, no sound. Expected Results: SqueezePlay should continue to play until Album/Playlist ends or until interrupted by user. Build Date & Platform: Date and platform of the build in which you first encountered the bug. Since first version of SqueezePlay tested (Oct 1, 2008) Additional Builds and Platforms: not applicable Additional Information: Any other useful information. Server is XP (SP3) computer, using Version: 7.3 - 24206 @ Fri Dec 5 03:04:18 PST 2008 SqueezePlay client is on second XP (SP3) computer, using Dec 5 version. All tracks played are FLAC, wireless network reports excellent connection, normally 54 Mbps. My system also has three receivers and a controller. I haven't had any issues at all with receiver playback and Ver. 7.3. SqueezePlay log files are attached. There are errors mentioned in the files but I have no idea if it is a local issue to my system or a SqueezePlay issue. There have been several people in the beta forum mentioning the same issue.
I've experienced exactly the same.
I downloaded and have been running the Jan 12, 2009 nightly version for SqueezePlay (SqueezeCenter is Version: 7.3.1 - 24367). SqueezePlay ran uninterrupted all night using Random Album Mix. This morning I synced it with a receiver and both have been playing since then. It may be too soon to close this bug but things are looking good right now.
Some recent fixes should have improved this. An additional fix has been made in 7.3.2 r3856.
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.3 release version of SqueezeCenter! If you haven't already. please download the new version from http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/support/download-squeezecenter.html If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
