Bugzilla – Bug 10152
The "Install SqueezeCenter" icon is not visible in our DMG
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:20:06 UTC
When mounting our new 7.3 DMG file, you need to scroll down to view our installer icon. This doesn't look good and is poor customer experience. Yes, it's a little thing but it's noticeable.

no target without assignee This depends on the view configuration of your finder. Matt/Tom - can the order in large icon view be configured?
This looks like a reasonable and safe technique: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/96882/how-do-i-create-a-nice-looking-dmg-for-mac-os-x-using-command-line-tools I'll attach a dmg file that can be used as the template. Matt: You'll need to... 1. Make a copy of that file 2. Convert that copy to a R/W DMG: with "hdiutil convert -format UDRW" 3. Mount it 4. ditto the files onto it. 5. rename it with "disktool -n" 6. unmount 7. Convert it back to a R/O DMG 8. Profit!

Fixed in change 24156... Now we can do some real nice customization of the DMG package as well.
The change works from command line -- but does not work when run through parabuild. Change 24158 reverts the change for now.
Should be fixed in change 24170... Instead of renaming the volume, we create a whole new one. The settings that Finder saves go into the .DS_Store file, so we copy that (and other) files over to the new image and the settings look to be preserved.
Perhaps this is something we should look into by the way -- customizing our package further to look a bit nicer: http://mxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/build/package/mac_osx/
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
