Description Mickey Gee 2008-11-26 10:05:31 UTC
Received this description from Telecom Italia. Not sure whether this is a bug or feature enhancement:

"using line-in cable to connect Ipod: when you plug out the cable, the device doesn’t allow to go to the standard menu (internet radio, Music services etc.).To do that, the only way is to unplug and re-plug the power."

I think this means that when you remove the line-in cable somehow the Boom menu is stuck on the wrong menu. To correct the situation, you need to pull the power cord and plug it back in.

I've not tried it myself, so we definitely need to check it out first.

QA to verify from SC as well as SN
Comment 2 James Richardson 2008-12-02 11:44:56 UTC
QA Confirmed no issue with r40 and SC 7.3

After removing the Line-In plug, the Boom UI still shows 'line in' for ~15 seconds. After that the UI switches to the last display before the line in was plugged in.

Testing on prod.SN: I got different results.

Upon plugging in the Line In, I see the Boom UI flash "line in" (2of2) then jump to the 'now playing' screen, then 2 seconds later jump to the 'line in" display.

When I remove the line in plug, the Boom attempts to auto-play what ever the last playing item was (current playlist) even if that item is not available any more.

One other note: ON the SC UI, I notice that 'line in' shows up on the Web UI Play list multiple times. Once for each time I plugged it in and out. It looks like it's adding 'line in' to the current playlist

Felix, is this yours?
Comment 6 Mickey Gee 2008-12-08 16:37:22 UTC
More info on original bug (not the muliple Line In issue)from Telecom Italia:

"...Alice Gate standard router, and that the wi-fi is setted with WPA."

I think we should attempt to reproduce originally reported problem with Alice router configured for WPA.

Re comment #2 second part about prod.SN: I guess that would be something for Andy or Michael to check/fix.

Re comment #3: Probably Michael knows what is going on with the multiple entries. (Maybe it is dependent on whether party mode is selected?)

Re comment #6: Sounds like a completely different bug to me and yes QA should investigate that and or open a new bug.

James to file 2 new bugs on comment 2 / 3
Comment 9 Mickey Gee 2009-07-31 10:33:38 UTC
Don't know what the status is with this issue. QA should verify, but not a high priority.

mp3 file with russian filename

I put this file in a directory, then renamed the directory to the same name as the file. However, it didn't hand Squeezecenter, it crashed the scanner.

whoops wrong bug, sorry
Comment 12 Chris Owens 2009-08-05 16:14:53 UTC
Could not reproduce. What was the user doing at the time? Listening to the line-in source? Some other music source? What menu DID the user go to? Was it the setup menu?
