Bugzilla – Bug 10144
Unable to play provider-specific radio stations
Last modified: 2008-12-02 23:14:50 UTC
My provider, Internode provide hosted radio stations. http://www.internode.on.net/residential/entertainment/broadband_radio/ Access to these radio channels is only available when you are on the provider's network. The problem is - it's impossible to play them with SquezeNetwork (it works only if you have PC with SquezeCenter turned on.) There has been one message about this problem: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37596 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49083 And it's not resolved. slim:noscan doesn't help the eproblem. - URL http://radio.internode.on.net:8082/#slim:noscan=1 results in "Checking stream..." for a few seconds, then Squeezebox says "Stopped" - URL http://media.on.net/radio/42.pls#slim:noscan=1 results in message "Error: No items found in playlist" - URL http://media.on.net/radio/42.m3us#slim:noscan=1 results in message "Error: No items found in playlist" I see here two problems: - slim:noscan doesn't work - if slim:noscan is added to URL SqueezeNetwork should NOT try to parse playlist at that URL.
Why removed blocker severity? I can't use the device and there's no workaround.
This should be fixed now. Fix will be rolled out within an hour. Note that you cannot use playlist links with noscan, as there is no way to get the playlist. The direct stream URL such as http://radio.internode.on.net:8082/#slim:noscan=1 should work though.
Nothing changed so far. it still don't work. Trying to play URL http://radio.internode.on.net:8082/#slim:noscan=1 The unit says "Now playing (checking stream)" then "Stopped" Squeezenetwork version (sv) r5171/r24134 not sure if ti's new as I have not written down what was the version yesterday.
Andy: when trying to add the stream as listed to a Favorite on SqueezeNetwork (dc) r5192/r24134 I get the attached error message. Trying to play the favorite, I get 'connecting - connection timed out' messaged just as Kramer did.

Right, that stream won't work for anyone not on that ISP. You have to test with a stream running on your own LAN that SN can't access.
James: see previous message.
