Description James Richardson 2008-11-18 09:58:53 UTC
Invalid Password will generate the wrong error in the sign in wizard.

Enter a valid Email Address
Enter an invalid password
Click Next

NOTE: error message of 'Invalid email address." is displayed.
Remove the "." as it' is not grammatically needed in this error dialog
Change the message to "missing / invalid email address"
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2008-11-18 22:55:55 UTC
So all you want me to do is replace

'Invalid email address.'

with

"missing / invalid email address"

Matt - ok?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2008-11-19 01:22:43 UTC
not a Windows installer issue
Comment 3 Weldon Matt 2008-11-19 09:09:06 UTC
Works for me...
Comment 4 James Richardson 2008-11-19 10:24:44 UTC
Matt: the bug report is on the fact that an incorrect error message is displayed, when the user enters a wrong PASSWORD during the sign up wizard.

The error message (in red) states 'Invalid email address' when in fact it should say 'Invalid password' when entering an invalid password.

on SN itself we use the following versions:

DA	Ugyldigt brugernavn eller adgangskode til SqueezeNetwork.
	DE	SqueezeNetwork-Benutzername oder -Kennwort ungültig.
EN	Invalid SqueezeNetwork username or password.
NO	Ugyldig brukernavn eller passord for SqueezeNetwork.
SV	Ogiltigt användarnamn eller lösenord SqueezeNetwork

Should I replace the existing message with this one? We don't distinguish between wrong user or password. Don't want to give hackers a hint what to fix ;-)

Apologies, what I meant is that Michael Herger's solution is the correct one, not that I didn't find the bug.

AH..if that's the case, (and I do agree with making it less hacker friendly) I suggest we change the message for SC to what we use on SN then.

Any time we can have SN and SC in harmony, we have a much better user experience.

Michael: this is yours, right?
Comment 9 Michael Herger 2008-11-23 22:55:58 UTC
change 24035 - use same string as on SN

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.

Reduce number of active targets for SC
