If this is new_schema, then it should be for 8.0.
Comment 2 Barry Gordon 2008-11-23 16:15:05 UTC
I am not sure what new_schema means. This bug has been around a long time. Searching with diacritic markings is not selective. it "Over finds". This has been brought to slim devices attention before 7.2.1. It mainly affectts the European market not the American one, but I assume that is not an issue.

I believe that this is fixed in 7.6. Confirmation would be useful.
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2011-04-07 11:24:51 UTC
It may not be possible to fix both this bug and bug 16956, searching is supposed to normalize the search query so it matches both types of characters.
