Bugzilla – Bug 10000
Get PCM parameters from WAV header if present
Last modified: 2010-05-07 10:20:18 UTC
Firmware should decode WAV header if present and not rely on strm-s parameters for sample-rate/channels/sample-size/endianness.
Yay bug 10000! You have won a free Jive battery and a complete set of EU power plugs when you get here!
PCM audio should be compressed to FLAC by default in SC, right?
Yes, by default. This bug arose because of reports of problems playing wav, with transcoding disabled. Having the firmware capable of extracting PCM parameters from the WAV header would help in a few situations.
Consider for 8.0, possibly fixing in SqueezePlay first and then back-porting.
Let's leave this in the future and fix it as the opportunity arises.
All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform. We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
